Reviews for Scott Hernandez
4 reviews from homeowners and contractors
Terrible. Scott was the field adjuster for our hail damage, and he dismissed most of our roof dents as cosmetic. He barely spent 15 minutes on the inspection. The first estimate wouldn't even pay for 25% of our roof. We had to hire an engineer and complain repeatedly to get a re-inspection. Only after overwhelming evidence did the insurance reluctantly pay for a full roof replacement. Scott either missed a lot or chose to ignore it – either way, we're not happy.
I worked with Scott as a restoration contractor after a hurricane, and it was a nightmare. He was uncooperative on supplements and never returned calls. He omitted necessary repairs from the estimate like roof decking and insulation which obviously got soaked. It felt like he was actively trying to minimize the claim. In the end the homeowner had to escalate to management. Easily one of the worst adjusters I've dealt with in terms of thoroughness and responsiveness.
I'm a public adjuster who dealt with Scott Hernandez on a hurricane claim, and I was not impressed. Scott minimized obvious wind damage and tried to settle for a fraction of the repair cost. Even when confronted with contractor estimates, he stuck to a low figure. It was clear to me that he wasn't interested in a fair resolution without significant pressure.
Scott Hernandez handled our claim for extensive water damage after a tropical storm, and it was a horrible experience. He was unresponsive and then denied large portions of our claim citing pre-existing issues. We had proof the water intrusion was storm-related, but he wouldn't listen. We're left feeling very frustrated and mistreated.
