Reviews for David Nelson
3 reviews from homeowners and contractors
David handled our house fire claim and left us extremely dissatisfied. He missed a lot of smoke-damaged items in his report and was very unresponsive. Weeks would go by with no update on our claim status. We ended up having to pay out-of-pocket for some cleaning because the insurance, based on his assessment, claimed those items weren't covered. His lack of thoroughness and poor communication made a terrible situation even worse.
As a public adjuster on a California wildfire loss, dealing with David Nelson was incredibly frustrating. Despite extensive documentation of severe fire and smoke damage, David's initial offer was absurdly low. He seemed overwhelmed and unwilling to reconsider major items until we pressed hard. It took invoking the threat of legal action to get a fair settlement. This adjuster made an awful situation even harder for the homeowner.
David Nelson handled our claim for a pipe leak under the slab. He wasn't entirely dismissive – he did cover the plumbing repair and some of the floor damage – but he refused to cover the full cost of replacing our hardwood floors. We got something, but not enough to restore the room to its original condition. We're left feeling partially satisfied and partially short-changed.
